Escondido-Creek-Willow-18300.jpg

Old willow tree with exposed roots at the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve in Escondido, California. Escondido Creek's water level wildly differs, mostly depending on precipitation. After rains it rises dramatically, which is what led to the roots of the willow tree being washed out and exposed.

Composite of two exposures: a very long exposure time to blur the water movement, and a shorter exposure time to preserve the sharpness of the branches and leaves on the tree (they were moving in the wind, causing unwanted motion blur in the long exposure).
